The Triffids - beautiful waste, 1984
"Beautiful Waste" is a single released by Australian rock group, The Triffids in February 1984. Not included on any of the band's studio albums nor extended plays, it was first compiled on Australian Melodrama (1994). Its B-side, "Property Is Condemned", was included on the 1984 EP Raining Pleasure. A film clip was made for "Beautiful Waste". Its name was adapted for a 2008 posthumous compilation of mid-1980s non-album tracks, Beautiful Waste and Other Songs."

Telenova - in the name of your love, 2026
"Romantic, divine, potent — whatever kind of love it is. Something that wakes you up. Calls you upwards. To something that’s not always easy or comfortable, but is rich, deep and true."

Don McLean - castles in the air, 1970
"The song describes a man who is unsatisfied with and weary of an urban lifestyle. Although native to the city, he decides to forsake not only his urban 'castle in the air' but also his love interest there."

Pink Floyd - san tropez, 1971
"Unlike the other tracks on Meddle, "San Tropez" was not written collaboratively; instead, Roger Waters wrote the piece himself and brought it into the studio already finished. It is the only track on Meddle not co-written by David Gilmour. This song is about a place called Saint-Tropez, a commune of the Var département in southern France located on the French Riviera. The song reflects an idealised vision of what a day in Saint-Tropez might be like."

Tame Impala - endors toi, 2012
“Endors Toi” means “go to sleep” in French. The track delivers psychedelic satisfaction in the form of wandering synths, crashing drums and hypnotizing delay effects."
Cloud Studies - last night i fell again cover, 2025
"Taking the loose feel of the original track and confining it to a much more rigid, thumping, song-serving, rhythmic framework – the Cloud Studies version ends up falling somewhere between Alvvays, The Cranberries, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine & The Jesus & Mary Chain. Guest starring Kirstin Isolde Lavender on lead vocals, the resulting tune is a hazy, atmospheric dreamgaze masterpiece and should be considered a how-to guide for aspiring dreampop/shoegaze musicians everywhere."

The Beatles - ask me why, 1963
"Written in early 1962, "Ask Me Why" is principally a John Lennon composition, but was credited to Lennon and Paul McCartney, as were all other Lennon–McCartney originals on the first pressings of Please Please Me album. McCartney said, "It was John's original idea and we both sat down and wrote it together, just did a job on it. It was mostly John's." It was part of their live act prior to their recording contract, and was one of the songs performed at their first Parlophone recording session in EMI's Abbey Road studio two on 6 June 1962. The song emulates the style of Smokey Robinson and the Miracles, by whom Lennon was influenced, and draws its opening guitar phrase from the Miracles' "What's So Good About Goodbye" (1961)."
